Septic tank trouble shooting
Don’t wait until you have a problem. For a typical household, septic tanks are usually pumped every three to five years. Routine pumping can prevent expensive failures such as a clogged drain field or sewage backing up into the home. When properly installed, septic tanks will trap scum and sludge, allowing clean effluent to travel to a disposal field. Fifteen to twenty-five years is the average life of a disposal field.
